Righteous Ink

Righteous Ink is a photographic series that follows the emotional journey of a morally “grey” character. A morally grey character is a character whose motivations are never strictly black and
white” (Rodrigues and Seegmiller, 2021). It specifically looks to depict how evil can warp an individual’s sense of good and can affect their actions. The project was originally created to showcase the art of the construction of characters with a particular focus on the components that makes up a traditional morally grey character and then the character giving in and fighting their inner demons. This will be achieved mainly by the manipulation of light and the significance of colour. Within my images a range of low key and high key images will be displayed to further aid the meaning of certain emotions in the images. Furthermore, colour will also aid the significance of each image as the brighter-coloured costumes shall draw connotations of happiness and love which shall be juxtaposed by the darker colours of the costumes that will draw a sense of evil and sadness. Naturally, my images shall be different to others within this subject matter as my series displays outfits that have been made with very specific props to aid the uniqueness of my series.
